161: Soundset at Canterbury Park

A hip-hop music festival in a field on a hot day at the beginning of the summer with all these artists for forty dollars? FUCK YEAH.

Atmosphere, Lupe Fiasco, Ghostface Killah & Raekwon, Kendrick Lamar, Aesop Rock with Rob Sonic & Dj Big Wiz, P.O.S, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Danny Brown, Big K.R.I.T, Evidence, Prof with DJ Fundo, Action Bronson, DJ Premier, I Self Devine, Astronautalis, Bambu, J-Zone (DJ set), Medusa, Chief Kamachi, Grynch, Chuuwee, Paten Locke and Willie Evans Jr. are DUMBTRON, Villa Rosa (Muja Messiah & Maria Isa), The Tribe & Big Cats, Audio Perm, Long Doe (Tony Bones, Big Wiz & Mike The Martyr), Auddio Draggon (Gene Poole & Xilam Balam), Tomorrow Genius, BdotCroc, DJ Stage One, DJ Kool AKIEM, LAST WORD, Kid Cut Up, Superbrush427, DIVINCI (of Solillaquists of Sound), Los Boogie.

I was there for mostly Lupe Fiasco and Atmosphere though, as I had not seen either fully before. There were two stages, and the temperature forecast was ninety five and humid. I wore a Jordan jersey with shorts and some Nike free 2.0s. I had a crazy tan line from the basketball jersey and sunglasses. The event was pretty awesome until the end. The ending was crazy, a tornado touched down and the weather was hitting the fan. Lupe's set was to be shut short and Atmosphere did not get to perform, except at the after party. If you watch the final video I captured, you will see what I mean with Lupe being cut. Minutes after that, the rain started coming down hard similar to light hail and the wind was blowing at a good thirty miles per hour. Enjoy.
