This was Wants Vs. Needs night. I got home around like nine thirty. I surfed the internet until about ten thirty. I hopped in the  shower and shits. I rode the bus that picked me up at like eleven at thirty second and Hennepin. I DID NOT GET TO WASHINGTON AVE AND HENNEPIN UNTIL LIKE ELEVEN FORTY! FUCK. I drank a Red Bull before going on the bus. I was hyped and fast walking to Club Jager. I was plastering stickers along the way as well. I got there just short of giving out shirts time. I grabbed my three shirts. I was going to give one as a presesnt to Becca for her Birthday, but gave it to Mel, because she seems like to be more grateful for the shirt as she comes to many of Wants. Her birthday is near the end of the month, so it was sort of an early present. She is probably one of the most interesting unique personas  I have met, almost like a female version of myself. Another shirt is going to myself, and the third going to Joe Garvey in New York City, who came up with the wants Vs. Needs I think it was idea or something like that. I thought he should get a couple of the shirts since he is missing a hell of a time in Minneapolis, but still having a good time himself in New York City with the Alife situation. I met many, many Facebook and Twitter 'friends' in real life tonight as well. It was cool as you could say. I had my ear plugs on again. My hearing perception was fucked. I got Petey Entourage season seven via Universal Serial Bus hard drive as well. I swat myself off some calories again. It was ironic seeing Becca at Wants, but not Laura, especially with her saying "Wants isn't my thing, thats Laura's". Ronnie Brown and some new friends were made at the event as well. It was him and their first time at the event. Ronnie did not get a tee, because the music did not stop to give out tees, which he thought is what happens. He got his shirt from Espada, who traded his tee for Yaphet's tee that Ronnie was wearing in a shirt trade. I saw Angel and another friend of hers as well that night. I forgot her name, she was cute too. Other highlights of the night, getting a drink from Petey and getting drinks pretty quickly from the bartender dude that usually gets my drink. Tonight I had a Grain Belt Premium bottle to start, then ended up drinking only another Summit pint. I walked home from Jager. I got home at like three thirty or quarter to four. I walked along with Tron who had his bike. He ended up laving to Pizza Luce downtown. He grabbed something to eat there. I was busy stickering the south side of Washington Avenue. I was talking a mile a minute on the way home while by Tron. I sort of remember the conversation, but not really. I ran out of the stickers I had currently by Minneapolis Community and Technical College. I was dancing to my iPod's music all along Hennepin through Loring Park to the Walker to my place along Hennepin. The streets are amazing in the early morning when there is no one on them and nothing but silence except my music on the iPod. I found some metal rod at Loring Park as well which I used like a cane or wand as a self-defense weapon type thing if someone came up to me at along the way. I was listening to the Secret Society volume two mixtape. I think I will call my iPod the iPodge now.  I remember taking one of the Hydrocodone/APAP pill on the bus to downtown as well.  My left side of my jaw feels semi-sore since I have been eatting harder foods on the left side. I went to sleep at like three thirty or quarter to four. I woke up at eight thirty to try to get to the shop as soon as possible to get to the shop to watch the Manchester United game which they drew zero to zero.

I know, this your feelings with regards to this post probably as it is one big catharsis thought with minimal structuring.

Saturday night I decided to get pad thai and watch a movie. I got off the bus at Hennepin and Lake Street. I see Betsy Roseberg, a friend of a friend, across the street. I think it was her. I am one of those people that does not say hi unless I am sure. I do not like to look funny raising my hand and saying hi to someone I do not really know. I head to Sawatdee Express. The door is locked. I see a white guy eating inside watching television though. I try calling the phone inside. I get no response or even anything. I end up stickering the pole in front of the place. I was getting ready to leave when I see the guy that usually works there coming. He was hitting the Henn-Lake Liquor store. He copped a Budweiser for the white guy. I got the chicken pad Thai with spiciness added. The price and quality and quantity is reasonable. Amazing Thailand's pad thai costs like thirteen dollars or more, whereas the one here costs six. I got home and ate the pad Thai. I watched some of V For Vendetta as well. I could not finish it, so I paused it and surfed the internet some more and slept. I ended up finishing the movie today this morning. The ending fight sequence where V kills Creddy and other cops is amazingly sequenced and filmed with the accenting of the knives and everything. Truly a wonderful movie. I passed on going to Lee Greenwich's Hands High dance night at Honey because a. I did not want to pay a cover fee of $3 at a new spot really, and b. I was pooped out from the night/morning before. I listened to The Diplomats mostly at work today. I had fun answering usual retail questions as well. I also tinychatted with this dude that works at Commissary in Orange County. It is one of the few retailers that can carry Supreme retail-wise, which is pretty impressive. Interesting place.

À la prochaine

GOODENOUGH Fall/Winter 2010 Collection

Having followed GOODENOUGH with great interest for some time now, I am perhaps even more fascinated in the brand now as developments continue to be made from the iconic Japanese label. Here is more impressive products from the GOODENOUGH Fall/Winter 2010 Collection with the core values the same as when the label was initiated by Hiroshi Fujiwara, you cannot ignore certain elements have changed since the label has changed hands.

Random drunk thoughts

Lowkey, I am very anti-social. People think I am an asshole for that probably as well.
Deleted some people off my phonebook:l I do not think I should have contact with those people unless it is in real life, and even then, barely want to speak to them. In other news, I did get two shirts from Wants tonight. One goes to either Vince or Garvey, the other to my archives, which is missing only one design.

Oofta

ps. FUCK Manchester United Red Devils match in the morning, game starts at nine o'clock central standard time. My eyes leaning low as fux right now too.

HEIR TIME SYNOPSIS: “Heir Time” (Prod. By The Sundance Kid) will serve as the October installment for the Free On The 15th
series by MaLLy x The Sundance Kid.
This time around I decided to take a slightly cocky/confident approach in the verses but then show glimpses of my humanity in the hook, which I believe you will appreciate. The production work along with the samples that The Sundance Kid offers is smoother than a glass of 18 yr Glenlivet on a Friday night, and provides the appropriate mix for the verbals presented. In short, I have found myself exuding confidence for being treated like a King but I still breathe the same air as the next man and wonder is my “star quality” earned or given?

Last night was pretty lame as fuck. I get off the bus at Hennepin and Lake to hit up Sawatdee for pad thai, but I plaster some stickers around that intersection on my way to it. I see the door is closed.  I get up to it and it is shut. FUCK.

I end up walking home a few blocks away and finish the rest of my sticker plastering. I get home and surf the internet some more. I go heat up some Roundy's Cream Of Mushroom soup in a can with milk. I did not know that milk 'curdles' when heated/boiled. This made it hot as hell too. I pour this into the bowl, and bring it to my bedroom. I put it on the table, but improperly grab it with my right hand and it tilts with reaction due to the heat. The shit spills on a corner of my netbook and on the table. I have to wipe as much of it off with a laundry shirt and do the usual blow while on spoon routine, while surfing. FUCK.

This is mostly all done with an episode of The Wire season three in the background on the external monitor and surfing the internet(strangely I have a few 'internet' friends, people I have never met, some not even seen), chatting to Nate, Becca, and Masha. I talked with Nate about random shits. Nate sucks because his phone is dead or temporarily disconnected due to his retardedness in paying the phone bill, so he iChats, Facebook chats, or Twitters until he resolves that. Becca, I hit up randomly every now and again. I hit her up to see how she was since the night before, seems she drank a lot. She was shit. She threw up at work and was asked to leave work early, and then was in bed before that and after apparently all day feeling the repercussions of the night before also known as Birthday. She said her whole body hurt and some other shit. She had like ten beers or so, five before the bowling. I went holy shit, I would have been making constant trips to the pisser because I can not hold my piss for anything. I suggested things to help, but she seemed to sick for that or so, she seems complicated. She was upset in an argument or so like that with more details, but I will not divulge that on here. She is a hard person to read sometimes, or maybe it is just me. Masha, I just hit her up because Carlin came in to work last night and said she said something about me being at Wants and I was a common friend of theirs at it. I said yeah. I hit her up to because, I do not know, I should talk to new people, even if me and her have just been mainly Facebook friends, which these days is the equivalent of 'myspace friend'. She is an interesting character. It seems she has had bad luck with the police for basic driving troubles. She got her driving license suspended and then multiple parking tickets and then expired tabs, the list goes on and on. It was so ironic for me because the guy that works at Zumiez here in the mall had a similar case as her with the suspended license part.

I ended up watching RED as well. RED stands for Retired Extremely Dangerous. It is a movie that just came out today. I will not say I downloaded it either, because that is illegal. While watching. all that I was focused on was Mary Louise-Parker also known as Nancy Botwin, marijuana mother from Weeds. I finished the movie at about one thirty or so, then fell asleep, and woke back up around three thirty or so again. I surfed the internet for like an hour, then back to sleep, and then to today fast forward. Today I will be going to Wants Vs. Needs tonight at Club Jager. My right arm feels weird today, like if I squeeze it, it feels sort of hurting. I did take a Vicodin before watching the movie, then I went to sleep after that.

T-minus 5 as well :D

Today I began drinking at work at five. I had about three fountain drinks total of Dr. Pepper and Captain Morgan rum. I took the bus to Becca's birthday at Elsie's. I sort of knew the location via Google maps, but not sure once I got off the bus. I took the bus to in front of Honey. I walked to Main St. That street in North east has some nice houses. The bridge just recently got built as well. The route got plastered with Vs. Social Standard stickers of course. I get there around and ten and apparently her and the party just got there. I pay and grab my shoes. Everyone was splitting pitchers of the beer, but I ended up grabbing a Blue Moon, two of them. The lady closed my tab and brought it back after one, I went what the fuck. I wanted a tab so I can grab another. Bad waitress in my opinion, and bad service by the place in general, waitress did not come around too often I think.

I met some cool friends of hers like Ethan who was in the Marines for five years and just got back recently in July, then Adam who secretly dated her with a crush on her but she called it hanging out years ago I believe when he worked at Buck Hill, Her brother Adam who secretly left and snuck out after everyone was bowling for a little while, Ryan who is a friend of Charlie's but I do not remember meeting before, and then Droo who I met before I believe but he does not remember. These were the people that I had not met before. Rebecca's birthday party/bowling was like she was another one of the guys type event, with no girl friends, or not many that came.

The usuals or ones that I did know were Serene who is dating Shakes, Shakes who usually takes photos for the Minneapolis scene life, Laura who is supposedly Becca's best girl friend with a daughter, and Charlie who I had met through cycling via work here. Those were the usuals that I knew.

There was bowling, conversing, photo snapping, and drinking. Bowling and drinking is a science. The more you drink, the better you get, but be careful, you should not over drink the point where you can not bowl well. This is a point that must be figured out through trial and error. I learned that I bowl better with a thirteen pound ball than a ten pounder, along with more booze of course. I was upset that they closed at one instead of two in the morning though. Charlie drove Ryan, Becca, and me to Thom Pham's Wondrous Azian Kitchen also known as WAK (pronounced WACK). There was fun finding an empty meter and parking spot downtown. We get there and go in. Nate, Russell, and Stu were the guys selecting music tonight. We met up with them. Becca ordered some kind of strawberry alcoholic drink from the menu and did not finish that. There was more dancing around to Nate's tunes along with photographing. 50 Cent's In Da Club was a must to be played, and it was. Happy Birthday was then sung to Becca as well at WAK.

We all left WAK, I plastered some more stickers around the corner of WAK. Along the way to Charlie's car, I plastered more stickers. While inside his car The Jackson 5 ABC started playing. We started rocking out in the car, then proceeded to get outside the car and jam to it in the street on the side and around the Jetta. After this we jammed some more to All I Do Is Win and another song which I do not recollect at the moment. We ended up at Becca's apartment stop. I went out to grab my flannel that she had and Red Bull I had left before there. She eventually brought Summit out and I played with him for a little while along with the other guys. I do not remember what time we eventually left, but it was after talking about her having to be separated from Summit for five months and some other things. I know i got a ride home via Charlie and fell asleep at some time. I hate not remembering what time I fall asleep at. This is because I do not know how much time of rest I got. I drank some water before though of course. She was also talking about having five days to have to confirm that she is going to do the studying abroad in Argentina, but i worried about Summit during that time. I went -_-. What the fuck, I know that is your dog and all, but if you were afraid of leaving him alone, you maybe should not have applied for the Argentina trip.

Drew, I got you on that cupcake for her buddy.

Sigh, I guess I get some slight entertainment through other people's lives as my life is simple and boring for most of it.

The New Bogeyman by Steven Vogel

I’m a cold war kid. I grew up in the 80s next to NATO’s biggest base in Europe, and my granddad was stationed there as an English soldier after WW2. The Hohne Camp was only around 150km west of the boarder to the former Iron Curtain, and monthly war games with 1000s of tanks, airplanes and soldiers were a common sight growing up. Fact was, living so close to an army base and close to the “enemies” boarder, the Cold War was a real life fact. I was indoctrinated to believe that the “Soviet” was our enemy, always looking for ways to drop nuclear bombs on our small community. Crazy as that seems to adults these days who were born after 1989/90 that was fact.

As real or perceived the threat was, everyone with half a brain now realizes that essentially after Reagan came to power, the Soviet Union was broke and unable to really pose a threat to anyone- as was witnessed in their war in Afghanistan in the 80s. Fact is also, that western governments have used the Soviet Union and their theory of the Communist Domino Effect to frighten and control us in the name of patriotism. Furthermore, it made a few people very rich. I mean, so rich that I cannot even comprehend the amount of zero’s on their bank statement. The “real”, and mostly, thought-up threat of war by the imaginary enemy to the East was reason alone to increase government spending on war and the war industry to levels unheard of to this point. In fact, some historians claim it was Reagan’s strategy to not outdo the Soviet Union in terms of arms, but to bankrupt them via the arms race. It worked, granted, but I seriously doubt that Reagan and his cronies intention was as noble as that. They wanted to get rich, and they did. In the meantime they scared the living day lights out of us, and stumbled across a means to control their population through willing media channels.

And then the Soviet Union threw in the towel. Over and out. Everyone was stoked, the war was won and over. The only problem was that now, we had a power vacuum, the enemy disappeared and really, there was no reason for that insane spending of tax money to fight a no longer existing enemy. Clinton got on that horse and turned the US budget around ( imagine that! ) only to find out that if you take away the pay check from Haliburton and Co., you’re in serious trouble. Throughout the 90s the people making money of fear looked for an enemy, a new Bogeyman, to scare us all witless. It took 8 long years until Bush 2 came into power until the conservative American think tanks, supported by their ruthless European counterparts, came up with a strategy to have an endless war, an unknown, scary, dangerous enemy called Al-Qaida.

And before you know it, we had an axis of evil, the twin towers were brought down and the thankfully, we now could once again, draw a line in the sand. You’re either with us, or for them.

We all know what happened next. War, 100 of thousand of innocent victims dead, whole regions destabilized, and in the meantime, the Neo Cons grew richer again, from war. Thanks to the new Bogeyman, called Al-Qaida. Crimes were committed unthinkable in their atrocity, all in the name of freedom, democracy- in reality, all in the name of money, fear and breeding generations of new terrorists, to guarantee an income for the next generation of war hawks.

Eerie. This should be no news to anyone with half a brain, but sadly, I think the majority of people in the west still believe this. Psychologically, it’s easy to understand. The vacuum created by “winning” the Cold War, made life in the West difficult, there were no clear lines anymore, the world turned grey and the black & whites were diminished. Sadly, it’s a fact, that figuring out the way of the world, takes time and patience, and nothing is black and white.

Forward to today, and something is happening in Germany which thoroughly disgusts me. As per usual, Germany takes a few years to catch on, and from what I can gather this has been happening in the US for some time, but I can’t talk about it, as I don’t live in the US and the information I get I don’t trust, either “right” or “left” wing media is tainted by unprofessionalism, and I cannot base my arguments on them. So let’s stick to Germany.

Most recently, really only for the last 18 months of so, the “conservative” -side note, they’re not conservative at all, they’re populist right wing idiots that want utilize fear for monetary gain -members of German society, media and politicians have thought to themselves, “Well, if the yanks can do it, we sure can”.

Lo and behold, I and everyone in this country has all of a sudden been bombarded, through the media mostly, by a new Bogeyman. The Muslim. No longer contend with singling out a group of religious fanatics, we are now at war, abroad and in our own communities with THE MUSLIM. To explain, Germany has a large Turkish, Kurdish and for a lack of a better word “Arab” community. We welcomed people from those regions to Germany in the 50sand 60s to support our booming economy. A lot of them stayed in the country, were integrated into German society and as far as I am concerned were and still are a huge benefit to our country.

Most recently, the politicians, paid for by the conservative media and large corporations that benefit from war ( we have a lot of them here, think of all the German steel manufactures, for example, that build weapons ) have gotten on the horse, that, the Islamic religion is undermining the “Christian & Jewish traditions of this country” – I kid you not, that’s a direct quote from one of those muppets.

They are basing this fear mongering on the fact that small, and I mean very small, portions of the followers of Mohammed in this country, mostly 3-4th generation of Germans ( longer than my family has been German for that matter ) are not willing to integrate into German Society, and are fighting a war to turn us all into suicide bombers. Which, quite frankly, is total nonsense and only a simplification of our own racism and unwillingness to genuinely help integrate those small groups into our own society.

I wager that there are more white bread Germans in Germany that reject our current constitution and call themselves Neo Nazi’s that there are radical Muslims in this country. But hey, they’re ok, because they go to a Christian Church. It’s flat out disgusting, wrong and I feel ashamed at this.

I liked Germany once, because it was mostly secular, and religion really didn’t play a part in how you were treated. As far as I am concerned, I don’t care who you believe in, or if you don’t believe at all. If you want to live here, you’re welcome, there’s the law, follow it, pay your taxes and it’s all good. That’s not the case anymore and I am seriously considering moving, to pull my taxes ( which are a lot ) out of this country as I cannot support this, and I am, through my taxes.

What’s happening here now is the same thing we saw in the 1950s. The only thing “our leaders” have changed is our “new enemy”, the Muslim. What’s even more disgusting is that people are buying it.

There are idiots in every culture, and demonizing a whole religion, because of them is flat out wrong. In our case it serves only this purpose: to rally the people behind a cause, no matter how wrong it is, to lead them into stupidity and to be able to shape them in any form that these leaders want them to be. For what? To get rich. To start more wars. Because that’s really what this is all about. Making money.

I am against this, and will do anything in my power to not only fight this demonizing of a people because of their religion -something that’s happened here before.

(NEVER)MIND THE GAP by Bobby Hundreds

Before I get into anything, I’m gonna assume you’re well familiar with GAP’s reveal, the controversy, andsubsequent revocation, of their new logo?  Okay then.
I’m all for listening to supporters, customers, fans (whatever you want to call the people, the consumers, who contribute to your business’ success).  And in many ways, I’m fond of crowdsourcing, which basically means the community is making the call.  It’s very democratic, maybe even socialist, and it means that everyone’s voice is heard in the decisionmaking process.  It empowers the customer, it makes them as much a part of the company as an employee, or even the owners.
The Hundreds is rooted in this idea as well, to a lesser extent.  Our brand is about being as open as we can with our supporters, without spoiling surprises or sacrificing our best intentions for the company’s direction.  The blog and stores are intended to be the tool for that, to engage our audience as to our day-to-day, to make you as much of a part of the brand’s experience as possible.  And the concept was derived from a very punk, indie music mentality:  If you’ve ever been to a backyard punk show, or watched an upstart band play out of their parents’ garage, you know how exciting it was to not have the band detached from their audience, up on a stage, up on a pedestal.  Instead, the band is at your same level, the singer may hand you the microphone to sing along to some of the verses, and afterwards you can shake their hands and talk to the bands about what those verses mean.
The difference from crowdsourcing though, and Gap’s predicament, is that the band isn’t asking you to write their songs for them.  Their career trajectory and artistic direction aren’t contingent upon what their flightiest of fans want.  The band sticks to their guns and moves on their own volition.  If they’re feeling somber, they may change up their sound and make a darker album.  It may piss off some fans, it may enlighten others, but in the end, it’s the band’s prerogative as to what to do with their art.  And they do this repeatedly throughout the course of their career, and that’s the legacy they leave behind to their fans.
What kinda bothers me about Gap introducing their new logo, and then immediately taking it back because of online outrage, is that first of all, we’re talking about a 40-year-old retail giant that has set the benchmark for the world’s mall-streamed fashion.  Gap has owned decades of mainstream clothing trends and their marketing influence ripples even as far down as us (I love their original print campaigns featuring celebrity iconoclasts, immortalized in Leibovitz photography).  And they did this all by being themselves, by being Gap.  You gotta figure this 15 billion dollar multinational corporation with 135,000 employees knows what’s best for their company.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.  Because a number of critics, emotionally charged designers, and personally offended Gap customers all expressed their disgust in Facebook pages and clandestine commentboards, it took Gap mere days to rescind their new logo.  Just like that. As if it never existed.
So I ask, Why?  Because some people were pissed?  News flash: People are ALWAYS pissed when a company changes it’s logo.  Especially a brand with as rich a heritage as Gap.  But more importantly, should Gap be heeding what outsiders suggest?  (Many of whom I’d guess don’t even shop at Gap or care about it’s well-being).  To bring it full circle, should Gap be putting their instruments down, walking out the concert venue and into a busy street, asking passers-by to write their next album?
What happened to living and dying by your decisions, having a backbone as a brand, and being secure enough with your identity to follow your vision?  In my opinion, Gap did themselves a greater disservice by crowdsourcing their new logo, and did far more detriment to their brand identity and company morale than a poorly designed logo could have ever accomplished.  And they did this all by not following their heart, but instead, their ears.
I’ll leave it at this: It is very important to listen to your customers, but it is more imperative that you listen to yourselves.

Secret Society Volume 2

When the first installment of the Secret Society series dropped at the start of the year, the feedback we received exceeded all our expectations. The project served as quite the showcase for the artists involved, with some headlining their own shows and others being a part of events, such as A3C. With that being said, it was only right that we construct another project, comprising of the best artists the society has to offer. Crack of Dawn x Joe Galvan x Random Acts of Flyness x The Real Just x Give The Drumma Some proudly present the second installment of the Secret Society series. The mixtape features several newcomers to the project such as Green Street, HIL Holla & Mikey Yuxx, as well as mainstays like TIME, Hi-Jynx, Hollywood Floss & Howard Flozstello. We’re also proud to announce that the society’s grind doesn’t stop here. A showcase featuring several artists on the tape is all but finalized for SXSW ’11 in Austin, Texas, so definitely stay tuned.

I tinychatted some more. I fell asleep to downloading some movie "StreetDance 3D". I broke my ear buds as well this morning. I do not have any headphones anymore. I will be combining my twitters into 1 big one and just watch what I say now. Too bad there is no separate send to someone specific or tweet to a specific list only function. Other places are much much greater than Minnesota it seems from my viewpoint. It seems people have migrated to New York City; well a few people I know anyways. I like NYC, but not if I run into the same people as I seen in a previous lifestyle. I would rather move to Los Angeles or San Francisco, just to get a different perspective in order to get another view and be different in general. Zoinks.

Time to start drinking now. The days go by faster with booze at work. Sell things, drink booze, listen to music, and surf the internet. This is the life, which is missing a sports car only I think.

I got my camera yesterday. FINALLY. NOT!

So the story began in two thousand six or two thousand seven. I bought it then via some eBay auction and purchased the protection plan via Panasonic for an additional two years in addition to the original manufacturer's one year warranty.

Fast forward to June this year. I was missing a screw to the case of the camera, so I decided to send it in with the note, "pictures come out blurry". They went through warranty politics for a few months. They figured out the "problem" and would order the part. WRONG. The part was unavailable. So begins more politic, resulting in them eventually buying a upgraded version, the new version of mine, the Lumix LX3. over my LX2, for my replacement. The camera would not fit well into my camera case that I bought for the LX2, so I decided to return it because it was sent as a "gift" to me. I tried to sell it on Craigslist, but the current going rate for the camera, even brand new, was significantly lower than what I was asking for. I am returning it to Amazon for like fifteen dollars lower than what I originally bought my camera for to purchase a newer/different camera. I will be getting the Canon Powershot G9, and going to be experimenting with that camera in photography a little bit more. The only downside is that it can take anywhere up t four weeks for me to get the refund. Go Amazon!

Long story is sort of short now.

InternationalSuitUpDay

I did not have my full suit with me. I did suit up. Here is what I could snap as I was Shit Out of Luck on my camera. Four weeks or more for a new camera! Click the pictures for a larger shot. This is also an update on growing my beard/stache/facial hair. The last time I shaved was October first. I will probably buy a trimmer in November and use that to style my face if I decide to splurge on that and not be a cheapskate or if I gave a fuck about my face somewhat.

Sunday. This day sucked sort of during work. I was kept busy with customers though. It was nice outside I believe, but people kept coming in. This day was "aight". Afterwards I went to Popeyes. I took the twenty one to it. I ordered the three piece combo meal. The three pieces of chicken came with a biscuit, a side, and drink. I had a strawberry Fanta for the drink and cajun rice for the side. They gave me two jams and four Louisiana hot sauce packets. I walked home and watched Piranha after doing some sticker pasting along the way home. That movie was definitely entertaining. It was so gore filled and stupid it was funny, along with the gratuitous nudity. The movie easily earned the R rating rightfully. The movie so sets itself up with a sequel. The sequel will probably get the same amount of buzz as this one got as well and come out surprising many people as it surprised me. I tinychat'd some more and then snoozed early I think. I do not remember too well as it was Sunday night.

Monday. I remember I woke up this morning with some kind of lucid dream that had a few friends in it. I do not remember what it was about anymore though as I did not jot down a note of it after it happened and I woke up in the morning after it. Today was a gorgeous day and it was the holiday celebrating the day Columbus discovered America and that there are not just Europeans in this world.
The Vikings played this day as well. I decided to watch the Vikings instead of "It's Kind Of A Funny Story", which I will be checking out tonight instead. I went to see the football game at Uptown Cafeteria instead. I ran into Romeny and Cathy there. They left at half time to go to Sushi Tango. I stayed. I caught most of the second quarter and the second half. I had a Summit EPA, a water, and their happy hour bacon cheeseburger with fries. The fries were wack, the burger was decent, and the price was good. The bartender was cute. Some other dude that was flirting with her weeks before at the Independent came by. It was funny listening and watching the two talk shit about each other. He talked shit and then went to the bathroom, then she talked shit about him while he was in the bathroom. The shit was about bickering and shit and the tip which was a dollar for the three Miller taps and a hot dog with fried chips. I would go there again, for only happy hour food or bar things, but not for regular food. I would only go there if offered dragged along with other friends. Every negative thing that people have said and written about the place seems to be true, or else it was just maybe my experience as well. They did have an unprotected wireless internet connection, which was a plus and minus. I watched the Vikings lose, then headed home.

I find out Vince is going to be in Korea for a few more weeks as well tonight. He was supose to be on a plane and be back to the USA the twelfth. FUCK MY LIFE. Few more weeks of eight in the morning wak ups to after nine in the evening work days.

Today, "It's Kind Of A Funny Story" tonight, along with Becca's birthday galactic bowling tomorrow, and Wants Vs. Needs party on Friday night, ending a 'busy' week.

Auf Wiedersehen

EDIT: FUCK. "It's Kind Of A Funny Story" is not playing downtown, but playing Southdale, and only at ten fifteen at night. FUCK, not having a working bike sucks. Guess stay at home movie it is. Tomorrow is International Suit Up day. Get with the fucking program, because I will be.

‘The Simpsons’ Explains Its Button-Pushing Banksy Opening By DAVE ITZKOFF

How did “The Simpsons” manage to track down Banksy, the pseudonymous British artist, and get him to create the powerful opening-credit sequencefrom Sunday’s episode, which seems to reveal the torturous sweatshop responsible for the show’s creation? And how, after all that mockery, have the producers behind that Fox animated series been able to retain their jobs? Al Jean, an executive producer and the longtime show runner of “The Simpsons,” pulled back another layer of the curtain and explained the stunt to ArtsBeat on Monday afternoon.

Q. How did you find Banksy to do this, and now that it’s done, how much trouble are you in?
A. Well, I haven’t been fired yet, so that’s a good sign. I saw the film Banksy directed, “Exit Through the Gift Shop,” and I thought, oh, we should see if he would do a main title for the show, a couch gag. So I asked Bonnie Pietila, our casting director, if she could locate him, because she had previously located people like Thomas Pynchon. And she did it through the producers of that film. We didn’t have any agenda. We said, “We’d like to see if you would do a couch gag.” So he sent back boards for pretty much what you saw.

Q.Were you concerned that what he sent you could get the show into hot water?
A. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t think about it for a little bit. Certainly, Fox has been very gracious about us biting the hand that feeds us, but I showed it to Matt Groening, and he said, no, we should go for it and try to do it pretty much as close as we can to his original intention. So we did. Like we always do, every show is submitted to broadcast standards, and they had a couple of [changes] which I agreed with, for taste. But 95 percent of it is just the way he wanted.

Q. Can you say what got cut out?
A. I’ll just say, it was even a little sadder. But I would have to say almost all of it stayed in. We were thrilled. It was funny, I watched “Mad Men” last night and I wondered if this was my Don Draper letter to The New York Times. I knew just how he felt. But it was great to have a secret.

Q. One of the things Banksy is known for is disguising his identity. How can you be sure that you were dealing with the real him?
A. The original boards that we got from him were in his style and were certainly by an extremely proficient artist. We were dealing with the person that represented him making the movie. I haven’t met him, I don’t even know what he looks like, except what the Internet suggests. And he’s taken credit for it now so I’m pretty sure it’s him. We went through the people that made the movie so I assume they would know how to get to the real him.

Q. Even compared to how “The Simpsons” has mocked Fox in the past, this seemed to push things to a different level. Are you sure there’s no one higher up than you on the corporate ladder who’s displeased with this?
A.I think that we should always be able to say the holes in our DVDs are poked by unhappy unicorns.

Q.Has Banksy’s criticism made you reconsider any of the ways you do things at “The Simpsons” in terms of producing the show or its merchandise?
A. I have to say, it’s very fanciful, far-fetched. None of the things he depicts are true. That statement should be self-evident, but I will emphatically state it.

Q. A lot of the show’s animation is produced in South Korea, but not under those conditions.
A. No, absolutely not.

Q. And even that closing shot of the 20th Century Fox logo surrounded in barbed wire?
A.Approved by them. Obviously, the animation to do this was pricey. I couldn’t have just snuck it by Fox. I’ll just say it’s a place where edgy comedy can really thrive, as long as it’s funny, which I think this was. None of it’s personal. This is what made “The Simpsons” what it is.

Banky x Simpsons Intro

Whoa, shit just got real

19 20

19
So this was Friday night. I stayed in until like about ten thirty. I thought about catching the bus at about eleven, but apparently if I did not catch that one, I would have to wait until like eleven fifty. I then chilled in bed until about eleven thirty and showered then. I got to Honey. It was a rap music part being hosted by Franz and DJ friends. The place is situated like a basement The layout was alright. It was not the most greatest designed bar/hangout but I guess the management did well with what they had.
The price of a tap Summit was five fifty. I think thats like regular going bar rate. I saw others there as well, I had the ear buds on deck of course. I drank at work a little bit because, honestly, it was sort of boring as fuck. Everyone was bummed off the Twin's loss and it was semi slow, but the last couple hours are like ghost town, after like the usual busy hours. I ended up leaving earlier at like one forty to go to the bus stop at second and Hennepin. I had a stack of stickers and plastered that corner or block pretty well on the way home as well also.

On the six bus home, I wanted to get pad thai for a late meal, and they was letting some people in, but I did not know the password or some shit, so they did not let me in. I walked to Caffrey's and grabbed a blue cow and potato salad. I ran into Wes Winship, Carla, and Anne there. There was a new party night at First Avenue called Extra Large hosted by Mike 2600. It is every second Friday in the Record Room.

I ran from Caffrey's with my sandwich home which is about like six blocks or so. That was a long ass run.

20
Saturday sucked. I was drinking and tinychatting with some people from the internet. I was saddened by the Twins, finding out they was down five to none on the bus home from a friend. I was going to go to the Cafeteria to check it out, and watch the game, but fuck, five down, playing away in New York City, screw that, Twins are not coming back. I slept at like two in the morning. I knew today was going to be ass, because my dinner meet up got called off, Vikings are not playing, and there is international soccer matches only this weekend, so fuck! And I can not even ride my bike, walking everywhere and sticking stickers on around Uptown and Downtown. I am going to the new Zach Galifianakis movie tomorrow night. Monday movies.

I am debating whether to eat Quang's or Popeyes today after work though. Two hours for me to decide though. Either way, I have to take the twenty one or eighteen bus. FUCK, I need my new tubular wheel already. Tonight I have a few movies as well, some random ones, I Am Legend, or episodes of The Wire.

Thank You BasedGod.
